Hi all,
I'm Kurt. My wife, Mon owns Mon and Kurt's Restaurant in Chiang Dao, Thailand.
We have been living up here in Chiang Dao, Northern Thailand, since February 2006. Before that, we lived in Chiang Mai.
I have been coming to Thailand since 2000, the year I came to get my teeth fixed. Well, my teeth are fixed, but I at still here.
A little over three years ago, I met my wife, Mon, who used to own a restaurant in Chiang Mai, before we moved up here. Her good looks, awesome food and the fact that she was educated and spoke good English, made me chase her right away ;-)
We also have lots of things in common... Besides our love for cooking, we also love riding motorcycles and building choppers. A Harley hasn't been in our budget yet, because we are busy buying land and building a restaurant/resort or our own, but we bought ourselves a nice rice rocket and for the time being, we rent a Harley when we go back to Canada every summer.
I must admit, I really miss my old Shovelhead. In time, I will have another one, but for now, we just keep saving for our new resort, which should be open in about a year or so.
At the moment, we are only renting the restaurant and guesthouse we run.
This is the first time, that I am doing one of these Blogs. Not really sure what to say in here or who will read it, so I will stop for now.
